The Scientific Working Group - Imaging Technology (SWGIT), an FBI sponsored group whose membership consists of subject matter experts in both still and video imaging technology, as well as photographic and trace evidence comparison and analysis, has written a number of guidelines for law enforcement personnel tasked with using digital imaging technology as part of their job duties. New guidelines are released on an irregular basis, so it would be a good idea to check their listing of documents a couple times each year.
